The Pleasant View Metropolitan District Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Engineer in accordance with PVFD SOG 211-17 - Engineer. The department has two open full time positions, and the need for an eligibility list, for the position of Engineer to assist with daily shift staffing, help to build the Driver Operator Program, and assist with the goal of moving the department into the future. The eligibility list will be good through December 2023. The position is “at-will,” meaning the District or the employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time and for no reason.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Valid Colorado Driver's License with good driving history
● State of Colorado Firefighter II or Equivalent Certification
● State of Colorado Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations or Equivalent Certification
● Colorado or NREMT Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B)
● NIMS IS-100,200,700 and 800
● Two (2) years of fire experience
Preferred Qualifications:
● State of Colorado Driver Operator Pumper or Equivalent Certification
● State of Colorado Driver Operator Aerial or Equivalent Certification
● S130-S190-L180, Valid Pack Test
The following must be obtained within one year:
● State of Colorado Driver Operator Pumper
● S130-S190-L180, Valid Pack Test
● Completed Engineer Task Book
The following must be obtained within eighteen months:
● State of Colorado Driver Operator Aerial
Reading / study materials for the written exam: Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver / Operator Handbook 3rd Ed. Equivalent experience or education may be considered at the discretion of the Fire Chief. The District reserves the right not to hire any of the applicants for the position at its sole discretion. Testing process will consist of a written exam and pumping evolution. The testing process and interviews will be administered Saturday, June 24th 2023 at 08:30. Shifts will begin TBA.
